Singapore Museums
Museums are of great value for the lovers of history and art. They hold the artefacts belonging to different periods of history and take people on a journey in bygone era. Singapore also has several evocative museums.

Prominent among Singapore museums are as follows:

Asian Civilisation Museum
It is the first museum in South-East Asia which tells about pan-Asian cultures and civilisations and their influence on Singapore. Rich legacy of Singapore has been shown in very interesting way in the museum, which offers more than one thousand artefacts in 10 themed galleries.

Changi Prison Chapel & Museum
This museum in Singapore remembers the brave warriors of the World War II, who passed months and years of torture in confinement. Misery of their life is brought to fore through sketches, photographs and paintings. The Chapel replica was also built by the Allied prisoners. The Museum is also used for educational purpose.

Republic of Singapore Air Force Museum
This Singapore museum, which spreads over a large area, deals with the development of the Singapore Air Force, which came into being in 1939. The visual life-story of an Air Force is definitely intriguing for the ones interested in military aviation.

Singapore Art Museum
The Museum holding the largest collection of 20th century South-East Asian art is housed in the former St Joseph's Institution, a restored Roman classical building. It presents exquisite collection of Singaporean and Malay art, exceeding 4000 in 13 impressive galleries.
