Singapore Art Museum

Singapore Art Museum, which was inaugurated in 1996, offers comprehensive collection of Singaporean and Malay art, including sculpture. The largest collection of 20th century South-East Asian art in the region, it is housed in the former St Joseph's Institution, a deftly restored Roman classical building.

Museum Artworks
The museum has artworks exceeding 4,000 kept in 13 galleries. Small but impressive galleries feature several fascinating exhibitions by famous artists. Tourists also have access digitised images of works from public institutions. Free guided tours in English and Japanese languages are available. The museum also has a well furnished shop where one can browse through many interesting items, and a small but lovely cafe.

The Exhibitions
Art exhibitions are held in Singapore Art Museum to provide an open platform to showcase and celebrate the creative talents of visual artists based in Singapore. Visual artworks are submitted by the artists and these are exhibited in the museum.

How To Reach
Board MRT for Dhoby Ghaut or City Hall Station. Then walk towards Bras Basah Road. One can also take road route for reaching the museum.
